Suit Up

Conceptual Costume Design

✦ Overview

Crisis Suits is a conceptual costume and fabrication project exploring how people seek comfort during moments of physical or emotional crisis. Developed in response to lingering post-pandemic anxiety, the series treats costume as both armor and narrative device—using material, silhouette, and construction to communicate protection, vulnerability, and character within a production design context.

Each suit was designed and fabricated as a wearable object that balances structure with softness, combining monochrome forms with down-filled materials to evoke both play and protection. A procedural manual was created for each suit, outlining how the garment is worn and activated as part of the character’s behavior and world.
